The Triumphant Return Of The Enemy

Last Tuesday night was an all-out display of classic Ibiza Rocks talent.John McClure's electro-funk dynamos, Reverend And The Makers, opened the night with a dazzling set showcasing their awesome new album, 'A French Kiss In The Chaos'. Politics, passion and massive tunes - it all comes naturally to The Rev, and McClure was on top form. And then The Enemy...Can any band be said to better embody the spirit of Ibiza Rocks? For the third year in a row Coventry's post punk renaissance men have brought their anthemic take on UK indie to the White Island - last year they played the opening gig at the Ibiza Rocks hotel and very nearly brought the house down. This year was no less momentous; a beer-soaked journey though heartbreak and hardship and out the other side, all culminating in a mind-blowing finale and bassist Andy repeatedly throwing himself into the gleeful audience. Truly brilliant stuff.

Next week: another returning hero - Dizzee Rascal supported by Example and Newham General.
